A Deaf mum, Sally Reynolds, has sued the promoters of pop band Little Mix because they failed to provide a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter at a concert she was attending with her daughter and some friends. What struck me most about this story was how the organisers LHG, gave no explanation for why they couldn't provide the BSL interpreter. Just a simple "no" with each request. Sally explained, through a BSL interpreter on Radio 2, this afternoon, that first and foremost she is a mum wanting to attend a concert with her daughter and be able to talk to her about the concert afterwards. Why did it take the threat of legal action to provide a service that the law states should be provided. Shocking!
